Our Mission Statement
The mission of the Polaris Psychotherapist Consortium is to create an intentional community of individual psychotherapists connecting and strengthening each other through a steadfast commitment to ethical therapeutic work and ongoing substantive learning.
Polaris Psychotherapist Consortium was founded for therapists by therapists with the goal of collectively working together in order to maintain accountable therapeutic spaces with a focus on education, growth, social justice activism, advocacy, and ongoing in-depth consultation. It is very important that we are attuned to the complex and diverse needs of the people with whom we work.
We are an interdisciplinary group of psychotherapists with independent practices representing a diverse range of training experiences, personal backgrounds, and theoretical orientations. We have come together in order to elevate our respective practices with the aim of enhancing our skills and clinical acumen. All members of Polaris Psychotherapist Consortium have made an ongoing commitment to honor individual and group diversity and inclusion work with an explicit anti-racism and anti-oppressive focus in the interest of providing affirmative care to all those that they serve.
In addition, our members have agreed to seek out ancillary learning experiences and training beyond that which is required by their professional licensing boards in the interest of providing informed care whenever possible. While the Polaris Psychotherapist Consortium is purposely built for mental and behavioral health therapists, the underlying intent is that through our work together in empowering and guiding ourselves, we will be better able to provide comprehensive and effective care for those we ultimately serve: our clients or patients.
As therapeutic practice continues to evolve in an ever-changing world, our commitment to each other and our greater communities remains grounded in creating greater access to effective psychotherapy practices and training in as transparent and values-driven a manner as possible.
